During the Mandatory Telework, The NOAA Travel Office is only processing Foreign Travel Official Passports for employees with planned trips. We will resume issuing/renewing routine Official Passports when we are back to normal operations and the State Department reopens fully to the public.

UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE PLEASE DO THE FOLLOWING FIRST:

• Department of State (DOS) Requirement to Travel on an Official Passport

   

• How to Apply for an Official Passport. You will use one of the following two methods:
  
  

  1. Instructions for Obtaining an Official Passport with a Passport *Updated 7/29/21* will be used if your most recent U.S. Passport was issued within the last 15 years and:

     • Is undamaged and can be submitted with your application; and

     • Was issued when you were age 16 or older; and

     • Was issued in your current name or you can legally document your name change.

                        OR

       2.Instructions for Obtaining an Official Passport without a Passport *Updated 7/29/21* if:

  • You have never been issued a U.S. passport; or

  • You were under age 16 when your previous passport was issued; or

  • Your most recent U.S. passport was issued more than 15 years ago; or

  • Your most recent U.S. passport was lost or stolen; or

  • Your name has changed since your previous U.S. passport was issued and you are unable to legally document your name change.
