Guidance for the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA)

NEPA is a Federal responsibility. This document contains guidance and links to assist you in the NEPA process specific to your Bureau.

NOAA must analyze the potential environmental impacts, as required by the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), for applicant projects or proposals which are seeking NOAA federal funding opportunities. Detailed information on NOAA compliance with NEPA can be found at the following:

EDA
Detailed information on EDA compliance with NEPA can be found in the following documents:
•	Classes of EDA Actions
•	Policy to Reduce Hazardous Waste Liability - The attached Directive establishes the policies and procedures for implementing the Applicant Certification Clause and the Indemnification Standard Condition.
•	Implementation of Environmental Policies - The attached Directive sets forth procedures for processing EDA projects to comply with environmental requirements.
•	Floodplains Directive - Directive 17.04 establishes the Agency's policy and procedures for implementing Executive Orders 11988 and 11990.
