The Building Management
Branch - Seattle provides local facility management of the Western
Regional Center (WRC) and regional logistics support to NOAA
operations in the Western United States.
Single major NOAA
owned facility (600,000 square feet on 100+ acre campus) that
supports all NOAA Line Offices.
200,000+ square
feet of indoor and outdoor storage for regional NOAA operations,
including specimen collections, marine & scientific equipment,
records, materials and supplies.

mission and goal of the Buildings Management Branch - Seattle
is to provide excellent facility, property, and logistical
support for NOAA programs operating in the Western United
States and Pacific Ocean Area. This encompasses the unique
requirement to manage WRC in support of resident NOAA programs:
To provide a safe and
secure campus
To comply with applicable
laws
To protect and preserve
all government property, financial assets, and natural
resources related to WRC
To provide the best
possible working environment for NOAA programs and
personne.
Compliance with all
applicable regulations pertaining to property management,
transportation, printing and publications, copier
management, and vehicle management
Pass all audits without
negative findings
Provide expert service
in a timely manner to all NOAA field activities supported
by BMB-Seattle
Participate in all
national level policy/procedure development activities
for Logistics Division functions
Attain and retain a
highly qualified staff of knowledgeable professionals
to provide quality service and manage the workload
