Years of Science, Service & Stewardship
During 2007, NOAA will host events and activities throughout the country to celebrate its 200th anniversary. We will look back and celebrate our past, take stock of where we are in the
present, and consider the possibilities that lie in our future. The anniversary
is also an opportunity for NOAA to share our story with the American people,
linking our past, present, and future contributions to the health and vitality
of our nation.
Throughout the year, you can participate
in a variety of events and happenings and obtain outreach
and educational materials, all to learn about how NOAA
has impacted our everyday lives throughout its 200-year history.

Our Mission and Goal:
The Logistics
Division manages NOAA's national programs for personal
property, and logistics services programs, as well as local
delivery for facility administrative services specific operations
centers. The Division has responsibility for policy development
and guidance, program execution and performance management,
and customer relations. The personal property program oversees
the personal property databases and ensures compliance with
financial auditing requirements for personal property nationwide.
The logistics services
program coordinates the national logistics management program,
including shipping/handling/warehousing; NOAA-wide fleet management
(transportation and vehicles); PCS moves; printing and publications
(including forms management); and photocopy services. The
division also oversees the delivery (through local building
managers) of facility administrative services delivered at
various sites across the county. These services include space
management; site-specific shipping/handling/warehousing site-specific
mail distribution services; local Dispatch Pools; printing
and publications (including forms management); and photocopy
services. The program also coordinates with the DOC Office
of Security to ensure appropriate measures are in place to
safeguard NOAA personnel at NOAA facilities.
